How Yoga Can Help Youth At-Risk
Youth 'at risk' is a really simple term for a complex and varied group of young people who are not only dealing with all the regular stresses of being teenagers, but are also confronted with some of life’s most challenging problems.
When youth learn how to sit quietly, to relieve tension in their bodies, to practice the self-awareness and discipline needed to avoid reacting in negative patterns, there is a greater chance that they will experience higher self-esteem and be better equipped to make positive choices.
Benefits to the Community
When youth believe in themselves, they can become creative, passionate, productive members of our communities.
They need support to act from the place of their highest potential, and in some cases to break free of the patterns of violence, addiction and crime that they are caught in.
By helping youth realize all that they are capable of, we are helping to build healthy, harmonious communities.
